Hi again my dear friends! It is time to learn about the territoral organisation of Spain.

I have seen aaaall that you are going to do and I can assure you that you are going to love it.

1. Municipalities and Local Council

We are going to prepare you for a special task, you are going to make a roleplay of a local council. To do this, first you have to know what a municipality is and its components, as well as who governs it and what these people offer.

1.1. The municipality and its components

Roleplay of a Local Council:

You are all members of the Municipal Government of the Local Council and the Municipal Area will be your school.  

The group has to be divided into six smaller groups, each group will be in charge of a public service. 

So, for the next day, each group has to choose one member to run for mayor, and this person, with the help of his/her group, has to prepare an electoral program about the things he/she would do in case he/she wins. The electoral program will be read in class, and then we will take a vote to elect our mayor. The mayor will choose one councillor from each group to form the Government Commission.

Each public service should write proposals related to its service to improve the school. The mayor, with the help of the Government Commission, will then choose the most attractive projects that respond the school's needs.

Finally, the chosen projects will be given to the school principal for her consideration.
