25N - “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women”

Hello friends! Today is an important day, do you know what is being commemorated today?

That's right! Today we commemorated the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. 

Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in the world. 

We not only train you to be smart, we also expect kindness and empathy from you. That's why we want you to fight against this discrimination that has haunted us for a long time.

But let's stop talking for a bit and let's work on it! You are going to see how cool are the women like me! First of all we are going to listen to a song by Rozalen that represents this situation and later on to a song by Manuel Carrasco and Malú that talks about fighting for ourselves, for our happiness and our freedom. Let's do this!

I hope that you liked both of my favourites songs! Sadly, violence against women is so persistent that a special telephone number has been created for those who suffer gender abuse. That's why I always have my pokemons with me! But... not everyone is as lucky as me so an international gesture has also been created to ask for help. It is important that you recognize it in case you ever see it.

I hope you will never have to use them but if it does happen, my pokemons and I will fight them with you!

But for now, let's work on this for a bit and after we finish we can go for a cake or a donut or a cinnamon roll or a parfait or an icecream...

Oh you have finished so fast! I can see that you are all so hungry too! I'm so sorry but we have to do one last activity.

It is somewhere... around my bag... maybe here... or here... AHH I can't find it I have must forgotten it in my house! 

They are not even on the floor! Well nevermind, I think I remember what it was about so... I think you guys had to do a mural. I just want you to divide the mural in 2 parts, one with the good actitudes that everyone should have in a relationship and another one with the bad ones that can be considered as sexism and do some drawing that represents them.

Well done! Your murals look amazing! I love them all! Now I can go and eat some sweets hehehe, I need to go fast so no one gets my favorites one! See you guys!

Constitution Day in Spain

Hi guys, it's me Cynthia! Today I'm here to talk about a really special day in Spain, the Constitution day.

But... first of all we are going to watch a video so, let's go for it!

Now that you are all done, let's start with the first activity! For this activity I need you to remember yourselves the shield of your country, Spain, because we are doing a puzzle!

Let's put the pieces in the right place and color it propperly, later on we will hang it on the class walls.

International Peace Day

Hi there! I am the Officer Jenny, and I am in charge of keeping the peace among the Pokémon.

Do you know which day it is today? Today is 30th of January, the International Peace Day! 

Today we are going to do some activities to work this day but, first, we are going to see a video of the importance of world's peace:

 

Well, what do you think of this video? Do you agree with them? Talk between all you classmates about this!

Now, each one of you create a short story about beace, and make a drawing that represents peace.

Finally, as a whole class, write on a large card all the words that mean peace to each of you and add some of your drawings to the card.

 

 

So beautiful! If all of us help bulding the world to be a better place, there won't be any wars but peace!

8M - "International Women's Day"

   Wednesday, 8th of March 2023

Hi my dear students! As you know today is March 8th, that means we commemorate the International Women's Day. 

For a long time women have not been able to work and have no rights. But things have changed. Thanks to the constant struggle of women to make themselves visible, today women have the same rights as men in our country.

Women are just as important as men, even though there are still people who do not want to accept it. For this reason, today we remember and thank those women who fought so that today women have rights and can work. At the same time we continue to fight for our place in society.

For example, even if I work as a nurse my dream job has always been to design videogames so sometimes I practice on the computer of the laboratory. Furthermore, you can see that there are women working as a police officer, like the officer Jenny that you have met before, all of this wouldn't happen if we don't fight for equality in our society.

So... *yawns* let's stop talking and let's begging with the activity of the day! 

To commemorate this day, we have asked some women to come and talk to us about what they do and the importance of their role in society so they can be a nice example for you all.

Let's welcome them with a round of applause! Now it's their time to teach you so I'm leaving, see you guys!

World book day (I)

Hi there! Did you know that April 23rd is the World Book Day? Isn't it cool? Reading is amazing, you can get to know a lot of imaginary people, animals, plants, or wathever! The world of books is infinite!

We are going to do a proyect for this day, let's start!

 

We are going to see a video of a friend, called Luke, talking about the importance of reading.

Do you agree with him? Discuss with the rest of your classmates about the importance of reading. Then, write down in a paper your own opinion about this topic.

Now, we want to know what you like about reading, so we will like you to complete this in order to get to know you better;)

World book day (II)

 Wednesday, 11th of April 2023 

Hi there! Let's continue our proyect about the world book day.  

To start, I want you to discuss in groups of 4-5 person about a book that you all have already read. Talk about your favourite part and about the moment that you were more exited, nervious, sad, etc. Also, talk about your emotions during reading the book.

Now, I want you to write your own story!

You can make a comic, an anime, a simple book, or whatever you want! Use your imagination to create your story and do some drawings. It can be as long as you want. You will have to bring it for 24th April.

World book day (III)

Hi! Let's continue our proyect about the world book day. Today I want you to work in groups of 4-5 people to create a big card on which you have to put:

 

1. Some important writers.

2. Why is it important to read.

3. What does reading means to you.

4. Some of your favourites books.

 

You can dessign your own card and be as creative as you want. Add some drawings to make it look more beautiful!
